Our whole trip has been building up to this day, we woke and watched the sunrise wash over the mountains, changing their colors in front of us. The light washed the hills from cold blue to pink to yellow and finally snowy white. Cricket and I went on a walk, starting off the morning with some quiet time exploring the shoreline outside our cabin. A few hours later we set off, all five of us, driving through the golden morning light until we stopped in a little turnout and walked out to the sea. The shoreline was covered with rocks that stood just above the snow, the light warmed the mountains surrounding us, it was more incredible than any chapel I’ve ever seen. Cricket and Cristine were by their side as they said their vows, and exchanged rings. With their feet planted in the snowy moss, surrounded by these glorious mountains David and Suzanne were married.

We celebrated their love with eplekake and coffee and headed off to find a place for dinner. There wasn’t anywhere open in Reine for dinner, so we made our way back up north, watching the sun set around us as we drifted down the road, following the ocean. The only challenge of being here in the winter is finding restaurants that are actually open, so we were happy when we pulled in somewhere with the lights on. We found ourselves having dinner by candlelight, sharing a bottle of wine, and enjoying the most amazing food. It was a perfect celebration of an amazing day. → Peter Schweitzer
